MedEx Day 30 - June 27, 2022

Today was the beginning of the last week of MedEx. Today was only a half day for me, as I had to run some errands for my upcoming trip to Spain (I leave on Friday, July 1). While I was there, Tier IV presented our insurance presentations (like the one shown above). As a healthcare provider, navigating health insurance will be a daily task and a very important task to all of our patients. As such, it is crucial to learn about insurance.

My group's presentation was on Tricare and the VA. These insurance types are very complicated, since they are run by the government and because they take multiple factors into account when determining one's policy/ their coverage status. We had to determine which TRICARE plan was best for our patient "Jack" and his family. Overall, I thought the presentations today taught me a lot about different insurance types/ will aid me in my career.
