To start the day, Tier IV had the opportunity to provide mentorship to Tier II. Zainab and I met with our Tier II mentee group and discussed our experiences within MedEx, research opportunities, and answered questions about applying to medical school. I enjoyed getting to talk about my past experiences and hopefully help the Tier II members. I hope to continue mentor those pursuing medicine throughout my life.

Afterwards, a representative from the Julie Valentine Center came and spoke about healthy relationships and sexual harassment. In this discussion, we conversed about the importance of maintaining boundaries in relationships, communicating clearly, and speaking up when something goes wrong. I believe that my girlfriend and I have done a very good job of trying to follow these rules & I believe that this will aid me as a physician and throughout my life.

Later, we had a discussion about American medical schools versus International medical schools & we talked about residency placement rates. Hannah Anderson, a former program advisor, spoke to Tier IV virtually about disability/ how to treat patients in healthcare who have disabilities. I felt that I realized more the diversity which exists in the world/ not to "judge a book by its cover" and assume things about disabled individuals. Things which I have certainly learned from my experiences with the Miracle League, but which I continue to learn. Finally, the M2s had an Anatomy Lecture/ Jeopardy game regarding the heart and lungs.
