The first half of the day was a practice interview day. Our Tier rotated through 6 different interview stations which focused on different interview topics/ questions. I enjoyed getting to practice my introduction and ending to an interview, as well as practice MMI scenarios. I know that this interview prep will prepare me for the future.

After lunch, AJ gave a presentation discussing lawsuits, liability, and legality within healthcare. It was very interesting to delve into this side of healthcare and discuss insurance that healthcare providers must carry. Providers must carry three different types of insurance and are governed by many federal laws. At the end of the presentation, we were presented with different scenarios and were asked to decide whether the doctors in the real-life scenarios were guilty of malpractice or negligence. To conclude the day, we had three physicians on a panel talk about their journeys into medicine. The coolest part about the panel was that every member of the panel was an underrepresented minority. I enjoyed hearing about the unique challenges that each of these physicians had to face in getting to where they are today, challenges that I will likely never face. I hope to be supportive in bringing others alongside me throughout my medical journey/ career.
